LaH Tisha has worked at Everyone Home DC since 2009 and is Everyone Home DC’s first ever Director of Family Programs. This leads the strategic direction of the organization’s family housing and prevention programs. Prior to serving in this Director role, LaH Tisha was the Manager of the Family Rapid Re-Housing program for many years and also worked with Everyone Home DC’s Permanent Supportive Housing and Systems Transformations Initiative. Prior to coming to Everyone Home DC, LaH Tisha gained critical social service experience working with a range of vulnerable populations as well as stretching her entrepreneurial skills as a construction and property management company owner. LaH Tisha received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Virginia Union University. Learn a little more about LaH Tisha, in her own words:

LC: Empathic. Problem-solver. Dedicated.

What do you wish other people knew about Everyone Home DC?
LC: We have scored in the high 90’s for the past two years with our data quality reports.

What do you wish other people knew about people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness?
LC: They are not lazy. We see working middle class individuals and families who can experience homelessness who are hit with unfortunate circumstances.

LC: Caring. Fast-paced. Growing.

LC: Working in the church

What would you name the autobiography of your life?
LC: Endurance

What is the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
LC: First thing I would do, is get a good financial attorney.

What is something that people reading this may not know about you?
LCM: I enjoy cooking. My favorite meal to cook is salmon cakes, rice, and spinach. Cooking calms me, like a glass of wine

What is your favorite song of inspiration? Why?
LCM: Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler. The song reminds me of the constant support of my Uncle Rick. He is the wind beneath my wings I think of him every time I hear the song, and I tear up. He is so wonderful.
